OTI PetroSmart, a leading provider of automated vehicle identification based fuel management and petroleum payment solutions, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven VP Sales to help drive rapid and sustainable growth.  The VP Sales contributes directly to the overall success of OTI PetroSmart by reaching and exceeding defined revenue targets.


 The VP Sales for OTI PetroSmart will be responsible for generating new business, running existing sales accounts and working closely with strategic and regional partners to support their sales efforts.  The VP Sales will be responsible for a defined revenue target, which should be met on a quarterly basis and should, therefore, be passionate, self-motivated and results driven.


  • Drive awareness, adoption, and sales of OTI PetroSmart’s portfolio of products, solutions and services;
  • Generating significant levels of new leads, the VP Sales will be required to show a proactive and dynamic approach to lead generation resulting in tangible customer meetings;
  • Engage existing and new strategic partners to drive sales of OTI PetroSmart solutions through those channels and across industry verticals including retail, commercial home base, industrial and mining sectors;
  • Collaboration with the Group CEO and OTI PetroSmart MD to successfully meet annual and longer-term goals;
  • Manage existing sales team, who are responsible for promoting OTI PetroSmart’s packaged solutions for the commercial home base; industrial and mining sector with a view to meeting local and international sales targets for these solutions;
  • Lead and maintain market, competitor and customer analysis in support of commercial processes;
  • Coordinate with MD, CTO, and other stakeholders to ensure that the voice of the customers is captured in order to effectively provide input in respect of the go-to-market strategy for products, solutions, and services;
  • Collaborate with MD, CTO, and other stakeholders to support definition of product roadmaps and solution capabilities;
  • Understand and communicate product and solution functional requirements necessary to drive solution development to address new opportunities and market demands;
  • The VP Sales will be responsible for gathering customer requirements, both operational and technical, in order to build and deliver complex sales quotations;
  • Use ZOHO (CRM) regularly in order to build and maintain a record of customer and partner engagement activity.

 Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales and Sales Management
  • Pertinent tertiary qualifications
  • Strong negotiation skills with C level executives
  • Professional, clear and concise presentation and demonstration skills
  • International sales experience, as well as familiarity with different cultures and business environments and operating conditions, will be advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and retail fueling automation environments
  • Strong background in solution envisioning and remote services offering
  • Experience in high-tech companies or similar technology focused sales roles
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to work in a changing environment to drive innovation, execution, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong business acumen, as well as customer, focused influencing skills
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours as the exigencies of the business demand
  • English – very high level – written and verbal
  • Excellent administrative computer skills (e.g. Excel)
  • Cape Town-based candidates will be favorably considered

General: Frequent travel abroad will be required
