ePassport
OTI offers a complete, highly secure platform for producing andverifying Electronic Passports, smart Passport covers, smart ICAOStickers (eSticker), visas and other travel documents, and provides asystem which avoids a change of existing infrastructure andmanufacturing techniques. Designed to meet the security andimplementation requirements of the ICAO (International Civil AviationOrganization) and by using a field-tested FIPS (Federal InformationProcessing Standards) certified solution with PKI (Public KeyInfrastructure), OTI’s solution links travel documents to people byusing biometric and data identifiers. End-to-end solution for Enrollment, Production, Verification and Quality Assurance
OTI provides an end-to-end solution for implementation of ePassport projects. This solution ranges widely from enrollment, provision of smart inlays, chips, operating system, readers, through complete ePassport booklets production, verification, quality assurance and delivery, to document usage applications (Border Control, etc.).
Upgrading Existing ePassport Booklet
For countries that wish to upgrade, instead of changing existing infrastructure , OTI offers a unique approach – its Smart Inlay or eSticker – for document manufacturers to produce electronic documents, using their standard production facilities, saving the time and expense of implementing a custom manufacturing process.
From its many passport projects, OTI has gained in-depth knowledge of the UNO and Kugler booklet production systems and supports both of them.
Smart Inlay Solution
OTI’s Smart Inlay contains a module with an embedded microprocessor chip and attached antenna, which enables the chip to communicate in a contactless mode through the antenna. OTI’s Inlays solution for ePassports include multiple configurations, such as 2-up, 3-up and can be embedded in various materials (Teslin, Polycarbonate, PET, others). OTI provides in-line machinery and QA test tools to enable quick and immediate in-line functionality tests.
The Inlays can be inserted in the passport cover, data page, or in any page within the booklet. It offers the flexibility required for successful high-volume inlay production with minimal changes to the booklet manufacturing systems, designed to provide an automatic solution for producing Smart Inlays of the highest quality.
Chip and Operating System Technology
OTI is cooperating with multiple silicon providers in order to achieve highest quality and best cost/performance ratio to support large-scale and various implementations of OTI's solutions.
OTI’s Hercules Operating System is an ICAO compliant, scalable multi-application operating system. The design of the Hercules OS is a reflection of high demands with regard to functionality, security, flexibility, maintainability and performance. The OS is ISO/IEC 14443, ISO/IEC 10373-6 and ISO/IEC 7816 compatible with enhanced security architecture.
OTI’s Hercules Operating System is laboratory tested, and has received high scores in numerous inter-compatibility tests, including the latest EAC tests.
Contactless Readers
OTI’s contactless readers family utilizes OTI’s enhanced firmware architecture and is based on multi-layer, multiplication approach where the application resides separately and secure.
The readers use based on OTI’s patented matched antenna technology and provide effective power consumption, reliable and stable communication and additional levels of security and encryption throughout the communication link. The readers comply with ISO/IEC 14443 type A and B, ISO/IEC 10373-6 and MIFARE support.
